Bananas at Large has specialized equipment for production of music, audio and video. Bananas has been a long time supporter of YPI
Cascada de Flores ("waterfall of flowers") is the Mexican
music trio featuring YPI instructor Arwen Lawrence de Castellanos. The
group celebrates the diversity of Mexican rhythms, regions, dance and
language, as well as its connections to Cuban traditional trova and
son. Their second CD, "puente a la mar", was just released
in December 2002. Cascada de Flores also presents their music and dance
programs for children in schools, libraries and theaters in the Bay
Area.

Professor Sludge is a master of guitar styles ranging from country to
classical to rock'n'roll. He established his guitar academy in 1997 and
has attracted some stellar students, including YPI's all-grrl rock band,
Curiously Strong.
SoVoSó is the critically acclaimed world
rhythm and soul vocal band featuring alumni of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra,
including YPI teacher Joey Blake. The SoVoSó repertoire consists of original
compositions and other songs that present a global perspective, from
Afro-Latin idioms to traditional jazz choral arrangements. Their latest CD,
Seasonings, is available on their web site.
This is the blog of Total Destructive Interference, aka The Koalas, aka
Stealth Lady and Penguin Bob Collide. Total Destructive Interference
started as The Koalas, a project for
Young Performers International's 2004 Summer in the City summer
music camp. This cover band rocked at Slim's in San Francisco at the end of the camp and
decided to keep the band going, even if it was just for fun. Since then,
they've played San Francisco venues including Justin Hermann Plaza, Golden Gate Park,
and the Jewish Community
Center's teens-only venue, Club 18, and are branching out to venues in Marin.
The band's repertoire includes tunes by Led Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson,
and AFI, among others.

Yoshi's World Class Jazz House and Japanese Restaurant in Oakland's
