Holiday Music by YPI:

Our first concert is at First Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday, Nov 29 at 10:30 am where we will be singing their Sunday Worship Service. We will perform the San Francisco premier of Christopher Tin's "Baba Yetu" (the Lord's Prayer in Swahili from the video game Civilization IV) along with other holiday music. Then we'll be "strolling carolers" at the Holiday on Main Street in Tiburon on Friday, Dec 5 at 5:30 pm. We'll sing holiday music from around the world including "Carol of the Bells" from Bulgaria, "Hannukah Shalom" from Israel, "Allah Rasul" from the Middle East and as well as other traditional English Christmas Carols. On Monday, Dec 14 at 7 pm, Eclypss, one of our YPI Jazz/Rock Bands, will play a set of holiday music in the Lobby of Yoshi's Jazz Club in Jack London Square as a pre-show for SoVoSo's "Holiday Seasonings" concert. At 8 pm, members of the YPI Performing Chorus will join SoVoSo onstage singing Sunshine Becker's joyous, Latin-flavored anthem "Christmas in Questa." Our final concert of the season will be Holiday Music in the Lobby at the historic Mills Building in the San Francisco Financial District on Thursday, December 17 at 11 am and 12 pm. YPI's newest band, Excalibur, will perform and if you want to get in the holiday spirit, don't miss 8 year old Jeremy Scarth singing "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" -- it's to die for!

*Sunday, August 21, 2pm-5pm: All-Camp Performance and Benefit Dance Party at Slim’s* Slim's 333 11th St San Francisco This mad cool dance party culminated YPI's 2005 Summer Music Camp. After sharpening their chops all week, these talented young musicians staged a full-out performance to benefit YPI's music outreach programs.
*Sunday, May 15, 2pm - 5pm: YPI Spring Music Festival* Potrero Hill Neighborhood House 953 De Haro (at Southern Heights) San Francisco Last year's Spring Music Festival at the Julia Morgan-designed Potrero Hill Neighborhood House featured all YPI's choruses, rock and jazz bands, and individual students.

YPI's super-amazing choruses The Big Kids and The Magix, and rockin' YPI bands Mercury and Stealth Lady and Penguin Bob Collide (now Total Destructive Interference) entertained the crowds at San Francisco's Justin Herman Plaza. Songs including the Star Spangled Banner, Come Together, God Called in Sick Today, and Bright Future in Sales, brought the sun out on this overcast Sunday morning.	YPI rock band Mercury, ready to rock!
*Saturday, March 12, 2pm: Concert for Bread and Roses* The YPI Kids brought youthful cheer to a private concert for convalescent home residents in Marin County, performing under the auspices of Bread and Roses, the prestigious musicians' organization founded by Mimi Farina. Bread and Roses is dedicated to bringing free, uplifting, live performances to those living in institutions or otherwise isolated from society. YPI is delighted to be on the Bread and Roses Performers roster.
*Saturday, February 19: YPI at SFJCC's Club 18* San Francisco Jewish Community Center http://www.jccsf.org Once again, YPI's Stealth Lady and Penguin Bob Collide (now Total Destructive Interference) rocked SFJCC's teens-only Club 18 to rave reviews, performing originals and favorites at this great, teens-only venue.
*Sunday, January 30, 10:30am: Sunday worship service at First Unitarian* First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco 1187 Franklin St. at Geary San Francisco The YPI Kids sang music celebrating many faith traditions for First Unitarian's worship service on Sunday, January 30, including "Shalom/Salaam/Peace", "Kadish d'rabanan" and "Unconditional Love". Attendees described the YPI Kids as "luminous" and "magnificent"!
*Friday, December 24, 5pm: Trinity Family Christmas Eve* Trinity Episcopal Church 1668 Gough Street at Bush (corner of Bush and Gough) San Francisco The YPI Kids of Young Performers International sang the Christmas Eve Service at Trinity Episcopal Church, one of the most beautiful churches in San Francisco. The YPI Kids performed music for Ramadan, Hanukah and Christmas at the traditional "Lessons and Carols" service. Trinity music director Robert Gurney called the YPI Kids "magnificent".
*Saturday, December 18, 8 pm to midnight: YPI rocks SFJCC's Club 18* San Francisco Jewish Community Center http://www.jccsf.org YPI bands Curiously Strong, Stealth Lady and Penguin Bob Collide, and Jeremy's Band rocked the house at the SFJCC's teens-only Club 18. A sizzling time was had by all!
Thursday, December 9, 11 am - 1 pm: Music in the Lobby at the historic Mills Building 220 Montgomery Street San Francisco
For the third year in the row, YPI was invited to fill the historic Mills Building in San Francisco's Financial District with holiday cheer. The YPI Kids of Young Performers International and Los Ninos del Barrio delighted Mills Building tenants and guests with a mix of holiday music from many countries and cultures along with classics and holiday favorites. *Monday, December 6, 8 pm:YPI Guest Appearance with SoVoSó at Yoshi's* Yoshi's at Jack London Square For the third year in a row, The YPI Kids performed onstage with Oakland's premier a cappella band, SoVoSó, in their annual Seasonings holiday concert. We are thrilled that our kids were again offered this opportunity to sing onstage with performers of such a high caliber and at a professional venue such as Yoshi's. This year, Peter Williams and Kaz Kajimura of Yoshi's also invited The YPI Kids to sing outside Yoshi's and in Yoshi's lobby before the show! We sang traditional Christmas carols, Chanukah songs, and Ramadan music for Yoshi's patrons and passers-by. Many thanks to Peter Williams and Kaz Kajimura of Yoshi's for their generous support of YPI!
